2026 NBA Draft

2026-05-11

This is my annual tradition. I go through Tankathon and start from the bottom up. I specifically do NOT look at stats or bio first. I jump right to the highlights and see what I see. I watch 5mins or less of the film; skipping ahead if it has offense/defence/playmaking/whatever. I jot down my first impressions. That's it. I try to do it in one sitting to maintain consistency between the film. There's rarely any defense in these things so that comes later.

This year I'm slacking 'cause I don't have the time to start at the bottom of the second round (as I typically do). So only first round for now.

For those that don't know, I'm a Bulls fan since Jordan.

  1. Aj Dybantsa Um... the hype is real. Big. Fast. Strong. This kid is a monster. An absurd combo of power and skill. His touch is beautiful. That 3 will eventually drop for him; count on it.
  2. Darryn Peterson WOW. Dude is JACKED. 205? Dude looks 220. I love this guy. The skill; the touch; the shot; the movement shooting. Damn. I can't wait to see the defense. This kid is gonna nice.
  3. Caleb Wilson NASTY ATHLETE. Yowza. Length. Wingspan. Stocks. Defense. Yes sir... want on bulls. If the 3 improves YIKES!
  4. Cameron Boozer GET THAT JO! Polished. Big. Skilled. Would instantly be my favorite Boozer on the Bulls, evah. He's my least fav of the top 4? But I'd be happy to have him on the Bulls.
  5. Darius Acuff Okay... now we're talking. Smallish lead guard that can fucking SCORE. This kid is gonna light it up. I like everything (probably not the defense?). The shot WANTS to go in for him... and does.
  6. Keaton Wagler Big guard. NOT a pg. Rim-bully. Shot looks gross bug goes in. A LOT. Zero chance I take him over Acuff...
  7. Aday Mara REALY big lob threat. Oh snap... kid can fucking pass! Good footwork; crafty. Nice blocks. Moves lighter than 255lbs. Bulls next center??? (if he drops)... Tank y'all have this guy WAY too low. I might too...
  8. Kingston Flemings Small-ish combo guard. Quick. Love the rim pressure. Decent bag. Shot looks good. I like him.
  9. Mikel Brown Jr Good sized combo guard. Slippery. V slippery. Nice handle. Gets to the rim. The shot looks legit.
  10. Brayden Burries Big guard. Bully. I need better film on him... I'm just seeing him bulldoze people to the rim. Shot looks good tho.
  11. Labaron Philon Smallish combo guard. Active; gamer. Can pass and shoot it. Does kinda everything... how's his D?
  12. Yaxel Lendeborg I remember Yaxel from last year. Now he's V old. He's still good at everything and will help a team next year. Denver comes to mind immediately.
  13. Nate Ament Tall skinny F. Smooth. The numbers are fine. Can he defend? Otherwise he's lower to me.
  14. Cameron Carr older, skinny athlete. Looks taller than 6'5. Wingspan! Quick. Like the shot and movement. Kid does it all. That's a nice player. Tank has him going to OKC. That tracks.
  15. Jayden Quaintance Tall kid from KY which must be why he's in the first round? Oh... wait... no. I get it... this kid can defend like a mfer. Okay... why is he so LOW? This guy is an incredible defender. This isn't a good sign for his offense, given these are highlights. 🤔 Okay, this needs a LOT more film.
  16. Morez Johnson-jr BIG! Love the footwork! He's fun on the block/back2basket. STRONG. Soft touch; good hands. The 3 looks okay? Can jump over a phonebook... barely. LIKE!
  17. Koa Peat Big with good size. Handle/footwork are decent. He's decent; not great. I don't love anything on the film. I don't feel good about putting him here.
  18. Bennett Stirtz Good size. Quicker than you'd think. Good footwork/handle. Shot looks better than %; fixable. Can pass. Not bad!
  19. Tounde Yessoufou this kid's fav player HAS to be Ant. Good size and wingspan. Shot looks better than the %. Not bad...
  20. Allen Graves Big-ish shooter and I see why. Slow and shitty handle. If he gets to his spot he can hit it tho. 41% from 3 on only 2.6 attempts. Can pass a little. Okay, that's a lot of steals.
  21. Tyler Tanner small, quick and +athlete. Like the handle; can finish left/right. Like the QUICK shot
  22. Christian Anderson smallish, SHOOT. ER. Handle needs work; passing is good. Now overly quick but not bad. Backup pg/shooter/secondary playmaker

MEH

These guys didn't impress. It's fine, highlights don't tell the whole tale. Some guys above will wind up down here and vice-versa. Gotta start somewhere.

  1. Karim Lopez FLETCH FRO! Sadly, that's my fav part of his game. He's active... I can see him in the first round but not until I watch the second round. Tank has him way too hight.
  2. Isaiah Evans Skinny. I make sure to always watch the FIRST highlight. It tells me what they're selling. This one shows this kid acting like a jackass. Bad move. I immediately don't like him. Not even looking at the rest.
  3. Joshua Jefferson big ass big! he thinks his handle is better than it is; slow-ish; tough-ish; 3pt is just okay. Can defend.
  4. Amari Allen decent handle; decent athlete; decent size; decent speed; decent shot (push shot; needs strength but goes in). Decent? You'd love him late in the 1st/early 2nd

NO FILM

Tankathon had no film on them just yet. I'll circle back or go looking.

  1. Hannes Steinbach
  2. Dailyn Swain
  3. Motiejus krivas
  4. Chris Cenac Jr

SECOND ROUND

We'll see if I get there... since the Bulls have two picks there, it'll likely happen.
